Tom Franklin, P.E.

Mechanical Department Manager

The Mechanical Department Manager at CFI, Tom Franklin sets standards, provides continuing education, and reviews drawings and specifications. He participates in preliminary design concepts and some phases of design. In addition, he functions as a Project Manager.

For the last 10 years, Tom has primarily focused on healthcare, laboratory and industrial projects. During that span he provided project manager and design engineer services on numerous projects. Most notable among those is a nine-story, ground-up hospital and a multi-building laboratory project for a large oil company. While most of his recent work has been in healthcare and laboratories he also has experience in industrial office/warehouse/light manufacturing, high-rise commercial, higher education and retail.  

Born and raised in a small Texas town, Tom attended Texas A&M University and moved to Houston upon graduation.  When not working, he loves tailgating in the fall, working around the house and an occasional round of golf. He also enjoys reading and history. He and his wife have raised three boys, but now that they're grown, they look forward to traveling.
