A 45,000 square foot surgical hospital built within an existing shell building. CFI Companies provided new utilities to the hospital and provided design for a new chilled-water HVAC system with variable air volume air-handling units with electric re-heat and two fully redundant air-cooled chillers. The operating room air-handling units used two cooling coils in series to obtain a very low leaving air temperature to maintain an operating room condition of 64 degrees F dry bulb and 55% humidity. Air-cooled chillers and emergency generator had to be located on a new structure within an existing flood detention pond due to lack of space on site. All new medical gas systems were also provided.
