Job Description

CFI Companies, a fast growing MEP firm located in Houston, Texas, is looking for full-time Plumbing Designers to join a growing team of professionals. CFI Companies is a multi-discipline engineering firm that offers a broad range of services. Our services include mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low voltage engineering design services as well as commissioning services for healthcare, laboratory, academic, commercial, religious, industrial and residential markets. CFI Companies offers an Incentive Compensation Plan and an aggressive Benefits Program.  

This individual should be energetic and motivated to take on new challenges and should share our vision of design excellence, client satisfaction and respect for the office environment. This position requires an individual who can work well in a team environment, execute on a number of projects concurrently and be a self-starter working with minimal supervision.

Typical duties will include:

• Development of Design Drawings.
• Preparation of plumbing systems calculations, riser diagrams, plumbing plans, etc.​
• Prioritizing and scheduling assignments with team to complete projects on time and on budget
• Interfacing with other disciplines within the MEP team for coordination of project designs
• Study and Analysis of Plumbing Systems
• ​Answering RFI’s, reviewing contractor submittals, and performing periodic site visits to determine compliance with construction documents, and resolve design issues during the construction phase

​This hands-on position requires an Plumbing Designer who wants to contribute from start to finish. Their work will begin at the early conceptual stages and continue through to the preparation of as-built drawings. They will be working with an established team of professionals who are recognized in their respective fields of work and committed to providing quality services.

Minimum Requirements for the position are as follows:

• B.S. degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering
• 0-5 years plumbing systems design experience
• Ability to work on multiple projects at various stages of design and construction
• Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design
• Highly proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Revit
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
