CFI Companies collaborated with Spring Engineering, our trusted partner based in Florence, Italy, to oversee the production and ensure compliance with local Miami codes. We played a key role in reviewing plans for the integration of water source heat pumps to meet both cooling and heating demands, as well as upgrading electrical systems for mechanical, plumbing, and lighting requirements. A significant portion of the power allocation was dedicated to millwork lighting, cove lighting, and specialized panel lighting throughout the space.
CFI also developed the lighting control systems in partnership with Lutron and Moncler, implementing scene controls and scheduling features. We worked closely with Moncler’s lighting supplier and our Italian counterparts to modify the lighting systems to meet local energy codes and achieve ComCheck compliance.
The most prominent aspect of the design was coordinating with Brilliant Lighting Design, Moncler’s lighting vendor, to power and control the store’s striking two-story façade lighting system, which spans the entire width of the store. This required detailed coordination and an in-depth study of lighting controllers, drivers, dimmers, DMX controllers, lighting decoders, and cable management pathways.
Beyond design, CFI provided construction administration services, assisting the general contractor with change order reviews, RFIs, submittals, troubleshooting MEP systems, and on-site solutions for unforeseen issues and clashes.
